Freeride Group Courses
Freeriding is a group activity! Book your spot in a group course with 3 to 6 participants and make new friends on the mountain. Choose between Variable Terrain and Freeride Introduction. Minimum age: 14 years.
Variable Terrain – On-Piste
Develop your unique skiing style and build confidence to master various terrains and snow conditions, including bumps, powder, hard-packed snow, and uneven terrain. A great way to prepare for off-piste adventures. The course is held in the secured ski area.
- Equipment: Avalanche equipment is not required. Skis with around 80-110 mm waist width are recommended.
- Requirements: Confidence on black slopes; good fitness level.
Freeride Introduction – Off-Piste
Get a proper introduction to off-piste skiing, including challenging variable terrains and safety aspects of skiing outside the secured ski area. Together we explore some of the classic Engelberg freeride runs.
- Equipment: Avalanche equipment required (transceiver, shovel, and probe). Available for rent at Prime. Skis with around 80-110mm waist width are recommended.
- Requirements: Confidence on black slopes, including variable terrains; good health and a strong fitness level.
We offer Freeride Introduction group course on the following saturdays from 8:30 till 12:00. Other days on request.

Variable Terrain:
Requirements: Solid ski technique at all slopes.
Content: We ski on variable terrain in different snow conditions and learns the difference between secured ski area and avalanche terrain. The course is a great technique and knowledge preparation before taking the course Freeride Introduction and skiing off piste in avalanche terrain. No safety equipment is required.
Freeride Introduction:
Requirements: Solid ski technique on all slopes including uneaven terrain. Saftety equipment (shovel, probe, avalanche transceiver) is required and can be rented at Prime Office.
Content: We ski on variable terrain with challenging snow conditions including off piste in avalanche terrain in a safe way.
